In the process of reconstructing an identity distinct from the past—whether shaped by the deeply ingrained values of the community we grew up in or fueled by a simple desire for a new reality—certain actions that once provided security and validation from the group will be challenged.

The reception of this change varies; however, the initial emotional response often involves fear of ostracization. This fear is valid, considering that the surrounding environment typically adheres to the same rules as before, especially when the change involves adopting an opposing viewpoint.

 Consequently, one might find themselves devoid of external validation, relying solely on self-affirmation. Learning this skill is crucial, offering a profound sense of security, self-love, and subsequently reducing dependence and neediness. This temporary isolation often transforms as a new community of individuals, aligned with our evolving beliefs, gravitates towards us.

 

The ability to detach from others' judgment is a skill that leads to freedom, peace of mind, and eventual neutrality. It's worth noting that the less we judge ourselves, the less inclined we are to judge others. While not always necessary or appropriate, this skill serves as a valuable tool, albeit a daunting one to acquire, given that isolation was historically equivalent to Death.
